  1. Coorg (Kodagu)– Also called the Scotland of India, Coorg is a very beautiful place with lush greenery all around and warm people to make your stay a memorable one. Situated at a distance of around 250 kilometres from Bengaluru, it takes 5 hours to reach there by road. Coorg is famous for its coffee plantations and the area is surrounded by many plantations. Apart from the coffee plantations, there are many places to visit in Coorg. Abbey Falls, Mandalpatti, Dubare Elephant Camp, Raja’s seat and Nisargadhama are some of the popular tourist places.
  • Chikamagalur– Another beautiful place near Coorg is Chikamagalur. It is approximately 150 kilometres from Coorg and 240 kms from Bengaluru. It is famous for its hills and forests. Mulyangiri, the highest mountain peak of Karnataka is in Chikamagalur. One can visit some very scenic and picturesque places like Kemmangundi, and Baba Budangiri. It is also quite popular with trekkers and the view from the top is simply breathtaking.
  • Agumbe– Thinking of Agumbe, it reminds of the small, sleepy village of Malgudi. Most part of the famous tv series of the 90s, “Malgudi Days” was shot in Agumbe. It is also known as the capital of the King Cobra due to the large number of king cobras found in the forests of Agumbe. It is surrounded by waterfalls one side and Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary on the other.
